Baking classes in Kenilworth

Want your loaves to be loaftastic?  Then you've come to the right place!  I run bread making courses in Kenilworth, adjacent to the beautiful Abbey Fields,  on the third Sunday of each month.  Whether it's a treat for yourself or a gift for someone special, everyone leaves with the skills and recipes necessary to get cracking and a load of freshly baked goods to take home at the end of the day.

You don't need any experience of baking, in fact the courses are aimed at either complete beginners or those who have had, shall we diplomatically say, "limited success".

Introduction to bread making course

Your loaftastic day begins at 10am in the cosy bakery of Crustum in Kenilworth and while baking is relaxed we'll be very productive.  You'll start off making a plain white dough to get the basics right and a feel for good dough.  From this you'll make three products: a white loaf, a savoury Red Bread and a pizza for your lunch.  In-between all this we'll slip in a more technically challenging dough to make a focaccia.  If you haven't drunk too much beer with your lunch then in the afternoon you'll help make a batch of enriched Chelsea bun dough which we'll use to assemble your masterpiece - a box of buns hot from the oven for you to tootle home with and enjoy amongst fellow carbohydrate fans on the settee.

Cost: £95 per person; full day 10am until about 4.30pm

Minimum age of participants is 18

Christmastastic with Loaftastic

Oooh, fancy making some really rather seasonal, scrumptious stuff to stash in the freezer ready for the big day? Ho! Ho! Ho! - you’ve come to the right place then. This festive foray into doughy treats will see you produce two breads and a pile of sweet treats. Red onion and sage rolls are an ideal way of using up leftover cold cuts while the craberry pecan crown that you make is ideal for the cheese board later on in the day, preferably with a glass of port and your feet up. After a really rather nice lunch with Loaftastic you’ll make some stupendous almond frangipan twists - ditch the mince pies and munch these instead!

Gift vouchers

Want to buy someone a lovely gift but don't want to commit them to a date yet?  Nae problem!  I have some lovely gift vouchers for you - a nice thing to be able to give on a special occasion.  The lucky recipient can then contact me to arrange their loaftastic day out baking.  As they say in the card shops - "the reverse has been left blank for your own message".

Group bookings

If you can provide between three and six, preferably lovely, people who would like to do a course together then it may be possible to arrange a course on another day just for you lucky few!  It might also be possible to tweak the course content to make it more appropriate to your particular requirements.  Please fill in the contact form and give me a couple of dates you would prefer so I can get the ball rolling.
